Health & Social Care at GCSE Level
This course leads to a double GCSE and provides:
- Preparation for further courses or employment in the public sector or care settings
Experience in independent study methods
A course which develops skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT
During the two year course, the pupils will build a portfolio of evidence and have a written assessment on the three units undertaken.
Unit 1 - Health, Social Care and early years provision
Unit 2 - Promoting health and well being
Unit 3 - Understanding personal development
Assessment is by coursework in 2 or the three units and an examination on the third unit.
Unit 1 & 2 - 66% of the final mark
Unit 3 - 40% of the final mark
